Ag Poems...
The students read the HIP HOP CROP poem and decided to write poems about anything we've learned in agriculture.
Chickens
by: Olivia I am a baby chick, I like to eat and pick. My mom is a hen, we live in a pen. There are many types of chickens, one example is a Turken. There are also Cochins, they are small chickens. I puff out my feathers when in danger, I puff them out when I see and stranger. I am a chicken, I have big legs, I can lay a dozen eggs. |
Wheat
by: Jonathan I say that wheat is good to eat. This may seem weird, but it has a beard Wheat has a head, that's what makes bread You can harvest wheat and put it on a train. Wheat is also a cereal grain. Wheat can make paper, but not a skyscraper. Wheat is in the grass family, and it is also good for you and me. |
Cows
by: Ellizabeth I'm a cow, I process milk. My fur is soft it feels like silk. Milk makes you have strong bones. I live in a barn and you live in a home. Did you know cows are female? They drink water out of pails Cows eat about 90 pounds of nutrients each day, and they also eat hay. |
Building and Writing...
The students got a handful of candy Legos to build with. They then had to write a story using the idea of what they built. It was a sweet idea, as they could eat the candy and write at the same time.
